Need To Stick To A Budget For Your Wedding Decorating?

By Shirley Whittaker

When you are trying to do your wedding decorating on a budget, you sometimes need to think outside the box a little. Unfortunately anything that is generally considered a wedding decoration can often have an inflated price tag, as stores and manufacturers know they are going to be for a specific occasion. You can still do a lot to make your wedding memorable with budget wedding decorations, especially if you can search outside of the general wedding stores.

Often when you are searching around for suitable wedding decorations, and look in the standard wedding stores you may notice that the prices are quite inflated - this often happens when the stores know that something is for a specific occasion. It really will pay you to take a look around other types of stores - this way you will have unique and lower cost wedding decorations. Any money that you save on decorations can be used to pay for another part of your wedding celebrations, or even to pay for an extra special honeymoon.

If you are having a winter or even a fall wedding, then go shopping for the bargains after the Christmas period is over. All excess stock is sold off at a low cost. If you are having an outdoor reception, then outdoor Christmas tree lights (which can often be bought for half price or less) can be used between trees, bushes etc. You can even use these indoors. Lots of other Christmas decorations will also be suitable for your wedding decorations.

Try and make use of products that are not going to cost a lot of money. You coud for example make use of candles and small lanterns to make super centerpieces. If you are a little worried about a naked flame on the candles, then you could try the battery operated candles - these flicker just like the real thing, so will be just as effective. You could either just put one candle into the center of each table, or put several candles in a group onto a table. Try making some table runners from a metallic fabric, these will reflect the candle light beautifully.

You could make yourself some gorgeous centerpieces by simply putting a votive candle into a small lantern (if you are concerned about any potential fire hazard using real candles, then you could always go for battery operated candles). The light given off by candles is very flattering and also creates a nice atmosphere, so will go well at a wedding reception. You could either have one candle on each table, or you could group a few candles together. If you use soft colors and metallics for the lanterns or votive holders the centerpieces will look stunning. You could even use table runners made from a metallic fabric and then place the candle holders or lanterns onto this - the candlelight will reflect beautifully.

Make yourself some simple table decorations by using a nice glass bowl filled with water on which you can float candles. You could find a bowl in a color to match your wedding theme, or alternatively get a clear bowl and fill with colored water.

If you are good at growing plants and flowers, then you could make your own floral decorations and even have a go at making the bouquets. This will save you lots of money.

It really is possible to achieve wedding decorating on a low budget so long as you use your imagination and spend a little time thinking about what you can use. - 30299
